Chapter 14 and Chapter 15 questions

Chapter 14 QUESTIONS
1) What different interpretations did the townspeople make of the lights visible on the mountains?
2) Characterize Bard and the Master. What techniques does Tolkien use to encourage you to contrast the two men?
3) How is the setting of the town important in this chapter?
4) Was there ant situational irony for you in this Chapter? Any predictions fulfilled? Explain.
5) What motives guided the wood-elves' journey east?

Chapter 15 QUESTIONS
1) What role(s) have talking animals played in the plot of this story so far?
