chapers 14-15 cooper and elvis

CHAPTER 14 and chapter 15
1.what different interpretations did the towns people make of the lights visible on the mountain .the towns people thought the light was gold and they thought the king unda tha mountain was cuming to spread happiness and joy to tha people.
2. characterize bard and the master . what techniques does tolkien use to encourage you to contrast the two men. bard and the master are very differnet and they thing of the company in differnet ways. bard thinks the company is truefull and the master thinks they are playing them like uno.
3. hows the setting of the town important to this chapter. it is important beacuse bilbo baggins talks to the dragon smaug and says he is a barrell rider and smaug gets an idea of were bilbo came from and later in the book smaug goes to the town and torches it.
4. was there any situational irony for you in this chapter any predictions fulfilled. HMMMMMM???i dont think i had sny predictions filled and situational irony for me in this chapter. 5. what motives guided the wood elves journey east? They want the companys gold and they are hunting them beacuse they escaped from prison.
What do you predict will happen in the next chapter? i predicted that smaug will slay the town and the company will get there gold!
chapter 15
1. what roles have the talking animals played in the plot of this story so far. the dwarves have told the thrush to tell thorins relitives about smaug and thier gold.
2. bilbo thought that thet the adventure was properly speaking over with the death of the dragon and the narrator says he is wrong . what enimes might the companie have?
they will be enimes ith the towns people and the elfs
3. what did company they waited for the armys to approach? they started to hide there treasure.
4. how did thorin react to the elfs and men. how did the rest of the company feel. thorin was very made and didnt want to give any of his teasure away. the company felt the same way except for bilbo.
6. bard and thorin each present their view of the situation. how do you judge the situation? thorin is acting very stingy and greedy and bard is acting very inoceent.
7.what causes thorins hardness of heart? Thorin really wants to have all of the treasure for himself. love cooper and elvis
